Frame Fabrication
Canadian Coast Guard, Central Region, has a requirement for the fabrication of two [2] aluminum lighthouse frames as shown in the attached drawings. Frames to be provided with all necessary structural fasteners (excluding anchor bolts). Fabrication shall include all three modular frame sections, the balcony, handrails, lifting lugs, and all interior platforms and ladders, including grating and handrails. Not included is sheathing, windows, doors, roof assembly, or fall arrest rail.
Frames are to be delivered in three modular sections.
Fabricator to be certified by the Canadian Welding Bureau under requirements of CSA W47.2-M1987 (R2008) Certification Of Companies For Fusion Welding Of Aluminum.
Welders to be CWB certified, welding to be in accordance with CSA W59.2-M1991 (R2008) Welded Aluminum Construction.
Materials conform to the Aluminum Association Publication Aluminum Standards And Data
- Wide flange sections, channels and tubes: grade aluminum series 6061-T6, MIN Fy = 240MPa
- Bolts, nuts and washers shall be A193 B8 CLASS 2.
- Aluminum welding wire shall be of an alloy conforming to the Aluminum Association Publication Aluminum Standards And Data and shall be selected according to CSA W59.2.
- Weld filler material to be 5183 as per CSA W59.2-18
Delivery
One frame is to be delivered to the Canadian Coast Guard in Prescott, Ontario. Delivery address is 401 King St. W, Prescott, Ontario K0E 1T0.
The second frame is to be delivered to the Canadian Coast Guard in Parry Sound, Ontario. Delivery address is 28 Waubeek Street, Parry Sound, Ontario P2A 1B9.
Shipping and receiving hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday to Friday. Coast Guard must be notified of delivery at least three business days in advance.
All components of the frames must be delivered by May 7th, 2021.
