    There will be a second site visit on THURSDAY JUNE 8, 2017 at 9:00 AM. Interested bidders must meet at  Loading Dock, Security Desk, (accessed from Bay Street), 344 Wellington Street, Ottawa
    
    Safety Attire - Hard hats and safety boots are to be worn.  
    Contractor personnel/individuals who do not have the proper safety attire may be denied access to the site.
    
    In order to be granted access to the site, Contractors must bring a piece of valid photo ID for sign in.
    
    There will be no on-site parking available.  Bidders are encouraged to use private parking downtown for vehicles or arrange alternate transportation. Canada will not be reimbursing contractors for parking costs.

    PROJECT: R.073422.427 - WEST MEMORIAL BUILDING, ASSET INTEGRITY PROJECT
    
    The scope of the work
    
    • Protection in-situ or temporary removal of heritage elements to a heritage storage area in the parking garage;
    
    • Removal of designated substances in building interior;
    
    • Modifications to existing HVAC, electrical and life safety systems to 
    maintain system integrity;
    
    • Removal of non-functioning and out-dated mechanical and electrical building systems;
    
    • Selective demolition of partitions,floors, ceilings and finishes in the interior of the building;
    
    • Replacement of flat roofs.
    
    Work is to be completed within fifty two weeks (52) weeks after 
    contract award. 
    
    MANDATORY SECURITY REQUIREMENT:  
    
    This procurement contains a mandatory security requirement.  At bid closing, the Bidder must hold a valid Designated Organization Screening (DOS).Failure to comply with this requirement will render the Bid non-compliant and no further consideration will be given to the Bid. 
    
    OPTIONAL SITE VISIT:

    WORKING’S HOUR RESTRICTIONS 
    
    In order to minimize visible construction activity during the Canada 15
    0 celebrations, construction is to be organized so there is zero activity visible from Wellington Street from 1 June 2017 to 31 August, 2017.  During these months, any chutes or containers for demolition waste are to be located in the loading dock and construction vehicle access to the site must be restricted to occur between 12 midnight and 6 am,Monday to Friday. Furthermore, from Friday 23 June to Monday 17 July 
    2017, there must be no cranes or scaffolding on site.
