    Description:
    Perform the work on Canadian Coast Guard Ship (CCGS) Amundsen in
    accordance with the Fisheries and Oceans Canada - Coast Guard
    technical specifications entitled Dry docking Specification,
    dated June 13, 2012 and all related Drawings.
    
    Vessel Transfer Costs will apply to all bids for evaluation
    purposes.
    
    Major Work Items are:
    - Replacement of the Three Ship Service Diesel Generator Sets
    - Replacement of Five (5) Propulsion Diesel Engines
    
    Particulars of the vessel:
    1200-class Medium size ice-breaker
    Length overall:            		322 ft.- 7 1/4 in.
    Moulded breadth:            		65 ft. - 3/4 in.
    Load draught max.:            	23- 4 6/8 po..
    Minimum draught forward:   	18 ft. 6 in.
    Minimum draught aft.:        		21 ft.
    Load displacement:            	8,191 L.T.
    
    
    Bidders' Conference:
    A bidders' conference chaired by the Contracting Authority will
    be held onboard the
    CCGS Amundsen located at Section 25, Quebec, Quebec on July 18,
    2012 at 10:00.  
    
    Site Visit - Vessel:
    The site visit will be held on July 18, 2012 at 13:00 onboard
    the CCGS Amundsen, Quebec, Quebec.
    
    Destination:
    The work shall be carried out at Contractors facility.
    
    Contract Work period:
    The vessel Custody is mandatory during the following mentionned
    period which includes the drydocking working period.
    
    Commence:    	October 15, 2012
    Complete:      	May 31, 2013
    
    Insurance Requirement
    A minimum Ship Repairers' Liability Insurance coverage of $10M
    per occurrence, will be a requirement of the resulting contract.
    
    Contract Financial Security
    One of the following contract financial securities will be
    required;
    
    	EITHER 
    
    a performance bond and a labour and material payment bond, each
    in the amount of 20 percent of the Contract Price; 
    
    	OR 
    
    a security deposit in the amount of 10 percent of the Contract
    Price.
    
    Sourcing Strategy
    The sourcing strategy related to this procurement will be
    limited to suppliers in  Eastern Canada Region, in accordance
    with the Shipbuilding, Refit, Repair and Modernization  Policy
    (1996-12-19) subject to the Agreement on Internal Trade (AIT).
    This procurement is exempt from NAFTA [see Chapter 10, Annex
    1001.2b, paragraph 1 (a)] and from the WTO-AGP (see Annex 4).

    The Crown retains the right to negotiate with suppliers on any
    procurement.
