    INTRODUCTION
    
    This update is to identify the Qualified Suppliers that qualified through Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) program solicitation Phase 1 - Invitation to Qualify (ITQ) (W3471-130001/K). This update follows on from previous engagements:
    
    a. 24 September 2013 - Request for Information (RFI) publication;
    b. 4 February 2014 - Industry Engagement Session;
    c. 28 April 2014 - 2nd RFI;
    d. 26-28 May 2014 - 2nd Industry Engagement Session;
    e. 9 February 2015 - Letter of Interest (LOI)/ RFI;
    f. 28 October 2015 - LOI;
    g. 16 March 2016 - RFI Industry Engagement; 
    h. Sept / Oct 2016 - One-on-One meetings;
    i. 2 May 2018 - Industry Engagement Session;
    j. May / June 2018 - One-on-One meetings; and
    k. November 2018 - Solicitation Phase 1 - ITQ
    
    BACKGROUND
    
    The FAcT program solicitation is taking place in three phases:
    
    - Phase 1 - ITQ: Qualification of the "Qualified Suppliers;" 
    - Phase 2 - Engagement: Engagement with the Qualified Suppliers (including site visits, workshops, dialogue, submission of draft solicitation documents for comments, etc.);
    - Phase 3 - Request for Proposal (RFP): Competitive procurement process between the Qualified Suppliers.
    
    DISCUSSION
    
    Phase 1 - ITQ was published on Buyandsell.gc.ca under solicitation number W3471-130001/K with a closing date and time of November 30, 2018 at 2:00 pm. The Qualified Suppliers from Phase 1 - ITQ are (in alphabetical order):
    
    1. Airbus Defence and Space Canada Inc.
    2. BAE Systems
    3. Babcock Canada Inc.
    4. Leonardo Canada
    5. Lockheed Martin Canada Inc.
    6. SkyAlyne Canada Limited Partnership
    
    These Qualified Suppliers will be invited to participate in FAcT program solicitation Phase 2 - Engagement, and Phase 3 - RFP.
