Wasauksing Swing Bridge. Bridge Spans Repairs. Project No: R.078886.002 Scope of Work The Wasauksing Swing Bridge provides access for vehicles crossing the South Channel of Parry Sound between Seguin Township and Parry Island. The bridge is an operating movable bridge that permits the passage of navigation traffic through the South Channel. The movable span is an equal arm through truss pivot bridge with an overall length of 52.8 m. The spans from the east and west abutments to the swing span nose piers consist of a series of timber trestle spans. The 58.6 m long west approach consists of seventeen (17) spans of both timber pile and post/sill construction and the 42.3 m long east approach consists of twelve (12) spans of similar construction. Work of this Contract comprises of Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical repairs to the swing span. This rehabilitation Contract generally includes: replacement of structural steel wind bracing on the underside of the swing span; installation of new steel armouring at the ends of the bridge deck; installation of new bumpers for the bridge in its open and closed positions; repairs to the east end latch; rehabilitation of the end wedges; reconstruction of the span drive machinery; hydraulic modifications; installation of an anemometer; and miscellaneous electrical repairs. This is a two envelope, single phase selection process. This procurement contains mandatory requirements; failure to comply will result in rejection of the bid. Within the Invitation To Tender , the Crown sets out the project requirements, i.e., the particulars of the project itself and the broad scope of services required from the contractor. The duration of work is scheduled to be completed by APRIL 17, 2017. OPTIONAL SITE VISIT There will be a site visit on May 19, 2016 at 10:30 AM. Interested bidders are to meet at the Control House, Wasaksing Swing Bridge, Parry Sound, Ontario. Bidders must wear their own P.P.E (Personal Protective Equipment) including hard hat and safety boots. Bidders are requested to register with the Contracting Officer, Sheila Dhanna at sheila.dhanna@pwgsc.gc.ca or 416-512-5855, to confirm their attendance and provide the name(s) of the person(s) who will attend, 24 hours prior to the site visit. Any clarifications or changes to the bid solicitation resulting from the site visit will be included as an amendment to the bid solicitation.. If such a list has not been received by the time the evaluation of bids iscompleted, Canada will inform the Bidder of a time frame within which to provide the information. Failure to provide such a list within the required time frame will render the bid non-responsive. Bidders must always submit the list of directors beforecontract award. Canada may, at any time, request that aBidder provide properly completed and Signed Consent Forms (Consent to a Criminal Record Verification form - PWGSC-TPSGC 229) for any or all individuals named in the aforementioned list within aspecified delay. Failure to provide such Consent Forms within the delay will result in the bid being declared non-responsive. A COMPLETE LIST OF EACH INDIVIDUAL WHO IS CURRENTLY ON THE BIDDER'S BOARD OF DIRECTORS.
