    Public Works and Government Services Canada is calling for proposals from experienced Geotechnical Engineering firms with in-house resources and/or a team of sub-consultants with expertise which will include Dams, Bridges, Buildings, Airport facilities, Water and Sewage Treatment Plant, Municipal Infrastructure facilities, Road, Pavements, Small Craft Harbour facilities, Ferry terminal, public wharves, docks and piersshore protection, river bank naturalization and stabilization, Breakwaters and retaining structures and Dredging material analysis to submit proposals for Standing Offers. The selected consultants shall provide a range of geotechnical and materials testing services in Ontario Region.
    
    The Request for Standing Offer (RFSO) may result in the authorization of up to four (4) Standing Offers in the Ontario Region each for a period of three (3) years from the date of issuance of the Standing Offers. Canada anticipates the total value of these Standing Offers to be approximately $5,000,000.00.
    
    Examples of the types of projects which will require geotechnical and materials testing services include; carrying out inspections, investigations, monitoring and analyses of civil works of all materials (concrete, steel, wood, stone, soil, etc.) including all components such as approaches, embankments, abutments, wing walls, slopes, retaining walls, slabs, decks, superstructures, substructures, barriers, railings, curbs, mooring system, berthing system etc.
    
    The RFSO will bea single submission process. Proposals must indicate the Proponents interest in one, several or all regions. Proposals will be evaluated for both technical content and price. The proposal rankings will be based on 70% for technical evaluation and 30% forprice. Standing Offer particulars are described in the RFSO.
    
    Firms should be able to demonstrate successful delivery of the above referenced services for a broad variety of projects over the last five (5) years. In general, the firm and its personnelwill be evaluated on the basis of their demonstrated understanding of the scope of services, their approach and methodology to providing those services, the quality of their relevant experience inthisarea, as well as the cost of the provision of the services.
    
    Firms interested in providing these services may order the Request for Standing Offer documents which are distributed through the Government Electronic Tendering Services (GETS). StandardTerms and Conditions for this procurement are incorporated by reference into, and form part of the Tender and Contract Documents. The Standard documents are issued by Public Works and Government Services Canada and may be viewed on buyandsell.gc.ca.
