Trade Agreement: Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA) Tendering Procedures: All interested suppliers may submit a bid Competitive Procurement Strategy: Lowest/Lower Bid Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement: No Nature of Requirements: Laboratory Fit-Up- MAP Lab EQ754-211093/A Dhillon, Ambreen Telephone No. - (416) 318-9360 ( ) Fax No. - (416) 952-1257 ( ) THERE IS A SECURITY REQUIREMENT ASSOCIATED WITH THIS REQUIREMENT Terra Canada will build a center of excellence in Mississauga/Hamilton to develop and deploy a set of integrated technology platforms to accelerate the discovery of new materials and processes that underpin the commercialization of disruptive new products. Central to these efforts is a revolutionary approach to materials discovery, Materials Acceleration Platforms (MAPs). These are open-access, artificial intelligence (AI)-driven, smart robotics platforms for autonomous materials development. NRCan requires a laboratory fit-up involving renovation (approx. 91.5 m2) in room 146 and 147 of the existing CANMET facility located at 183 Longwood Rd South: 1. To enable the installation of a materials acceleration platform specializing in metals. 2. To provide connectivity to accommodate IM/IT requirements of scientific equipment. 3. To improve lighting, ventilation and humidity controls and electrical work to accommodate the new installation of MAPs. CONSTRUCTION TIME The contractor shall perform and complete the Work by March 23, 2021. OPTIONAL SITE VISIT 1. There will be a site visit on Friday October 23, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Interested bidders are to meet at the CANMET Facility located at 183 Longwood Rd S, Hamilton ON L8P 0A1. Bidders are required to register by 12:00pm on Thursday October 22, 2020 by emailing the Contracting Officer Ambreen Dhillon at ambreen.dhillon@pwgsc.gc.ca Only one representative from each company is permitted. NOTE: As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the following precautions are mandatory during the site visit: 1. Bidder self-screening and declaration that they are not ill is required at arrival. 2. Observe proper hand hygiene while on site. Sanitize hands before entering the building and after exiting 3. Wear a Non-medical masks/face covering at all times while outside of vehicle. 4. Maintain 2m social distancing at all time. 5. Attendance will be taken by Bidders announcing their name and Departmental Representative recording (no list will be passed around). 6. Avoid social greetings (e.g. shaking hands). Self- screening assessment questions: o Do you have a cough, fever, sore throat, difficulty breathing, or any other new or worsening symptoms? o Have you travelled outside of Canada in the past 14 days? o Have you had close contact with a person with acute respiratory illness who has travelled anywhere outside of Canada within the last 14 days before their illness? o Have you been in close contact with a confirmed or probable case of COVID-19 in the past 14 days? Do not attend the site visit if you answered yes to any of the questions, and contact your health care provider for advice.
