    Title:  Water Ingress at Section 1 Stairwell North Side

    Work Description: 
    This Contract covers the supply and mobilization of all labour, equipment, plant and materials to repair concrete cracks and joints in the main filling and dewatering tunnel at the Esquimalt Graving Dock. 
    
    Work to be performed includes: 1) Concrete repair work in de-watered tunnel: cutting and patching of linear joints in a confined space; and 2) Concrete repair work underwater: cutting and patching of linear joints and sporadic cracking by divers. 
    
    Optional Site Visit: 
    Arrangements have been made for the site visit to be held on June 18, 2018 at 10am PST at the Esquimalt Graving Dock. Interested bidders are to meet at the PWGSC Project Management Office, Building NS31, Esquimalt Graving Dock, located at 825 Admirals Road, Victoria, BC. 
    
    Bidders are reminded that the Esquimalt Graving Dock is a heavy industrial site and WCB approved hard hats and safety footwear must be worn for the site visit. 
    
    The site visit will include access to the location of the above water work within the main filling and emptying tunnel (a confined space). During the site visit, Canada will provide all confined space procedures, isolation, personnel and equipment to allow safe entry into the confined space during the site visit. One (1) bidder from each company will be permitted to enter the main tunnel during the site visit.  Bidders who wish to access the main tunnel during the site visit MUST confirm intention with the Contracting Authority in advance of the site visit.  Any bidder who fails to confirm intention to access the main tunnel in advance of the site visit will be denied access, without exception. 
    
    Bidders who wish to enter the main tunnel during the site visit MUST have their own personal protective equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to: personal safety harness and lanyard, gloves, safety footwear, hard hat, eye protection, non-flammable source of personal lighting such as a personal flashlight or headlamp, and appropriate clothing for a damp marine environment.  Rubber boots are recommended as the main tunnel may have up to 100mm of water in it during the site visit.  All bidders who do not have the PPE listed above (the minimum requirement) with them at the time of the site visit will be denied access to the main filling and emptying tunnel, without exception.  Canada will not provide any PPE to bidders during the site visit.  
    
    Bidders are responsible for making their own travel arrangements.
    
    The front gate commissionaire will only allow access to the site if previous visitor information is provided and names appear on the visitor list. 
    
    Interested bidders are requested to provide their name(s) and company name(s) to the Contracting Authority, Donna Fung, at donna.fung@pwgsc.gc.ca by 3pm PST on June 14, 2018, if attending the site visit. 
    
    Delivery Date: 
    The Contractor shall perform and complete the Work within twelve [12] weeks from the date of notification of acceptance of the offer.

    Value of Project: 
    To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project is estimated to cost between $225,000 and $275,000.
