    IMPORTANT NOTICE TO BIDDERS:
    
    Suppliers are required to submit bids electronically using Canada Post Corporation’s (CPC) Connect application for the subject bid solicitation. This service allows suppliers to submit bids, offers and arrangements electronically to PWGSC Bid Receiving Units. This online service enables the electronic transfer of large files up to Protected B level. 
    
    Please refer to SI06 Submission of Bid for additional details. Bidders should also note the requirements set out in SI05 Bid Security Requirements and that only electronic bid bonds will be accepted as bid security. A scanned copy of a bond does not constitute an electronic bond. Certified cheques, bank drafts, standby Letters of Credit and hard copy bid bonds will not be acceptable.

    SI11 COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement and Certification has been added:
    This requirement is subject to the COVID-19 Vaccination Policy for Supplier Personnel. All Bidders must provide with their bid, the COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement Certification attached to this bid solicitation. This Certification incorporated into the bid solicitation on its closing date is incorporated into, and forms a binding part of any resulting Contract. Failure to complete and provide the COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement Certification as part of the bid will render the bid non-responsive.
    
    Work Description:
    
    Work under this Contract includes:
    1. Fabrication, supply, and install a 29.28m span steel composite bridge over the Keogh River;
    2. Assess the capacity of the existing bridge as required for use by the Contractor during construction. The Contractor shall engage their own engineer to evaluate the existing bridge and determine its safe working capacity for use during construction. Contractor to provide temporary bridge and/or access platforms if required to construct the new bridge;
    3. Remove and dispose off-site the existing bridge superstructure;
    4. Remove timber crib abutment walls after removing bridge superstructure and dispose off-site;
    5. Construction of filled embankments at each approach to the new bridge;
    6. Placement of rip-rap protection on the head slopes;
    7. Supply and install guard rail system at the approaches and on the bridge; and
    8. Installation of signage and all site finishes as specified.
    
    Optional Site Visit:
    
    1. An optional site visit is scheduled on April 13, 2022 at 10:00 am, at the Port Hardy Airport Equipment Maintenance Building located at 3675 Byng Road , Port Hardy, BC. Bidders wishing to attend should contact the Contracting Authority at donna.fung@pwgsc-tpsgc.gc.ca before 2:00 pm on April 12, 2022 to confirm attendance and provide the name(s) of the person(s) who will attend.
     
    2. This site visit is subject to the COVID-19 Vaccination Policy for Supplier Personnel. The person(s) who attend must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, or, for personnel that are unable to be vaccinated due to a certified medical contraindication, religion or other prohibited grounds of discrimination under the Canadian Human Rights Act, subject to accommodation and mitigation measures that have been presented to and approved by Canada.
    
    Delivery Date: 
    The Contractor must perform and complete the Work by November 30, 2022.
    
    Estimated Value: 
    To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project is estimated to cost approximately between $500,001.00 and $1, 000,000.00 (GST included).
