Nootka Light Tower Refurbishment

Work Description: 
Work of this Contract comprises of the refurbishment of the
Light Tower at Nootka, located on the west coast of Vancouver
Island. Nootka can be accessed by helicopter and ship. The site
has been designated a federal heritage site and the
refurbishment must meet the 'Standards and Guidelines for the
Conservation of Historic Places in Canada'.

The Work under this Contract includes deconstructing the wall
panels (asbestos abatement) that enclose the stair shaft of the
light towers; removal of paint(lead-base paint abatement) on
structural steel framing of the stair shaft; surface preparation
of structural steel framing of the stair shaft; repair and
replacement of corroded steel components; installation of new
structural steel framing and wood nailer plates for support of
new wall cladding and roofing; painting of structural steel
framing and wood nailer plates of the stair shaft; installation
of new metal wall cladding and corrugated roofing systems; and
installation of 2 new windows and 1 new storm door.

Bidder's Conference: 

There will be an optional bidders' conference meeting on
Wednesday, October 28th, 2015 at 9:00am PST. Interested bidders

Interested bidders are required to provide their name(s) and

conference. Bidders are required to check in at the front desk
when they arrive.

If bidders wish to see the site at their own cost and

in advance so the site can be notified.

Delivery Date: 
The Contractor shall perform and complete the Work by March 6,
2016.

Value of Project: 
To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project
is estimated to cost between 
$250,000 to $300,000.
