    Due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and to encourage physical distancing, the bid receiving unit in Vancouver will remain open but with limited staff and limited hours: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays only, from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm (Pacific Daylight Time). 
    Public tender openings will be suspended until further notice. Following solicitation closing, bid results will be recorded and may be obtained by e-mailing a request to the address indicated in the Invitation to Tender.

    Work Description:
    Work to be performed under the Contract includes, but is not limited to, the following items, including all ancillary Work, covered further in the Contract:
    
    A number of sites adjacent to the Alaska Highway in the Province of British Columbia are identified on drawings. Approximately 10 to 15 sites will be selected for intrusive investigation from this list. Sites include: active highway maintenance yards, abandoned camps adjacent to the old highway alignment, abandoned airstrips, military fuel depots and former landfills.
    
    1: Mobilization of all equipment to a Starting Site as indicated. Onward movement to a series of sites which will be drilled as they are prepared and not in a linear geographical order. The drilling portion of the work will end at the Final Drilling Site as indicated.
    2: Environmental drilling: Borehole drilling, well installation and completion, soil sampling, vapour probe installation.
    3: Management of contaminated soil and water: Containment and disposal of contaminated soil cuttings, supply of barrels for containment of contaminated water, disposal of contaminated groundwater purged from wells by others during well sampling following well installation.
    
    Contractor must provide personnel and equipment with appropriate experience for site conditions.  Contractor to provide specialized material handling, health and safety, and environmental protection procedures, and must have knowledge of appropriate regulations.
    
    Work at Site involves Work with Contaminated Material. Complete list of anticipated contaminants and concentration levels on the Site available separately in Appendices and/or Drawings. Existing condition on the Site identified according to Drawings. Annexes provided for reference purposes only. 
    Optional Site Visit:
    An optional ONLINE site visit is scheduled for Wednesday, August 05, 2020 at 1:00 pm PDST.  We encourage all bidders to attend this online meeting.  You may attend either by phone (audio) or by computer (audio and/or video).

    Delivery Date: 
    Completion of Site Works no later than November 01, 2020.
    Completion of all work including final submittals no later than December 01, 2020.
    
    Value of Project: 
    To assist with insurance and bonding requirements, this project is estimated to cost between $500,001.00 and $1,000,000.00.
