Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) has a requirement for the construction of a new cook chill food services production facility at Westmorland Institution, Dorchester, N.B. The work consists of, but is not limited to, the following: New 700+m² one story steel frame building, sprinklered with partial basement and exterior loading dock bay; Site work such as excavation and new site grading, exterior stairs, ramps, asphalt paving and driveway to loading dock, landscaping and temporary construction fence and laydown areas; Site services work for new building such as new water, sewer, storm water, natural gas, electrical and site hot water piping, Kitchen food services equipment to be supplied and installed. Certain items of cook-chill related food service equipment to be obtained by owner and installed as part of this contract by general contractor. All work is to be performed in accordance with the plans and specifications for PWGSC Project Number R.061828.001 forming part of the bid document. The contract completion date is October 31, 2014. It is recommended that the Bidder or a representative of the Bidder visit the work site and examine the Scope of the Work required and the existing conditions. There will be an optional site visit at the Springhill Institution on January 9th, 2013 at 10:00 am. All interested bidders are to meet at the main entrance of the Westmorland Institution (Building F-58), Dorchester, New Brunswick. Although not mandatory, all contractors wishing to submit a tender for this work are encouraged to attend to become familiar with all aspects of the work. Any clarifications or changes to the bid solicitation resulting from the site visit will be included as an amendment to the bid solicitation. A CPIC will not be required for the site visit, however, in order to attend you MUST submit your name and company information to the contracting officer by no later than 4:00 pm January 6, 2013. Names received after this time may not be allowed on site by CSC. New measures related to Code of Conduct and certifications included in the solicitation documents requires attention. A public bid opening will be held at the Bid Receiving Unit, Room 421, 189 Prince William Street, Saint John, N.B. The estimated cost for this opportunity is within the following category: $4,500,001 - $5,000,000 (HST extra). Standard bid and contract security for construction is required.
