Note to Tenderers: Drawings and Specifications are now available for viewing and downloading in a Portable Document Format (PDF) or in a standard paper version. Tenderers should note that Attachment contains the Drawings and Specifications Package (DSP) which consists of PDF files organized in an industry recognized directory structure. Work Description: Work under this Contract includes, but is not limited to, -isolation valves addition and replacement on hydronic heating piping system of entire facility -living units A to H and J & K segregation units Provide a detailed work plan including a project schedule and construction phasing plan. This detailed work plan shall be submitted to the Departmental Representative for review to verify that there will be no interruption of service. All equipment and associated components are to be delivered to the site in a timely manner so that the work can proceed without delays. All of the above mentioned works to be performed in an environment which contains building hazardous materials. Provide for work including removal of hazardous materials in accordance with requirements of all Division 2 specification sections. Provide as-build drawings and closeout submittals. Work will be performed in accordance with the contract schedules within the scope of work. Mandatory Site Visit: Bidder’s attendance at site visit for this project is MANDATORY. The representative(s) of the Bidder will be required to sign the attendance sheet at the site visit. Bids submitted by Bidders who have not signed the attendance sheet will be rejected. Arrangements have been made for the site visit to be held on Thursday, September 28, 2017 10:00 am local time. Bidders are to meet at the Kent Institution PWGSC Site office located at 4732 Cemetery Road, Agassiz, B.C. Bidders are requested to communicate with the Contracting Authority, Ronny Ly at ronny.ly@pwgsc.gc.ca no later than 24 hours prior to the site visit to confirm attendance. Bidders should provide, in writing, to the Contracting Authority, the names of the person(s) who will be attending. Note: All contractors must wear a high visibility vest, which meets WCB standards, for all site visits including a tender site visit. No cameras, cell phones (of any type) or lap top computers are allowed into institutions at any time. All contractors attending the site visit must to able to provide a piece of Government issued photo identification at the reception in order to gain visitor access into institutions. Bid Depository: The General Contractor must obtain bids for the Mechanical trade through BidCentral Online Bidding for Subcontractors (BOBS) according to its rules of procedure (www.bidcentral.ca/bobs). All questions regarding BidCentral Online Bidding for Subcontractors is to be referred to the BOBS Administrator as indicated in the BOBS rules of procedures. The General Contractor must instruct the Mechanical Trade Contractors bidding directly to the General Contractor to bid on the scope of the work as defined in the BOBS rules of procedures (e.g. trade definitions, specification sections etc.). Notwithstanding anything else contained in this bid solicitation, no Bidder, General Contractor or Subcontractor or any other person or entity will have any claim whatsoever (including but not limited to a claim of negligence) or any compensation of any kind whatsoever against Canada as a result of participation in or use of BOBS, or participation in the BOBS process, or as a result of the interpretation, application or non-application of their rules of procedure. Delivery Date: The work shall commence immediately upon official notification of acceptance of tender by the Contracting Authority and is to be completed within sixty two (62) weeks. Value of Project: To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project is estimated to cost approximately $5,000,000.00. In all cases, bidders must indicate (when requested) in the space provided on the tender form the identification number(s) of the addenda, if any, that they have taken into consideration for their bid.
