    Work Description: 
    This project will involve the excavation of 5,000 tonnes of soil, hauling to an onsite facility 3,000 tonnes of contaminated soil, and backfilling with overburden, owner supplied material, and import material.  Approximately 80 tonnes of contaminated material will also need to be hauled off site to a disposal facility provided by the Contractor.  Specific tasks include:

    • Site Preparation.
    • Site Facilities Provision.
    • Site Facilities Operation.
    • Standby Time.
    • Contaminated Water Treatment Provision.
    • Contaminated Water Treatment Operation.
    • Temporary Sloping and Shoring.
    • Waste Oversize Debris Removal.
    • Excavation.
    • Backfill - Imported.
    • Backfill - Overburden.
    • Backfill - Owner Supplied.
    • Contaminated Material Transport - Offsite: Hazardous Waste.
    • Contaminated Material Transport - Offsite Waste Quality.
    • Contaminated MaterialTransport - Owner Soil Treatment Facility.
    • Non-Contaminated Material and Waste Transport.
    • Contaminated Material Disposal: Hazardous Waste.
    • Contaminated Material Disposal: Waste Quality.

    The Contractor must be experienced in handling contaminated material, and have all appropriate health and safety and environmental protection procedures in place.
      
    Work will be performed in accordance with the contract schedules within the scope of work.
    
    Bidders’ Conference: 
    While there are no scheduled site visits, an optional bidders’ conference is schedule at the Public Works andGovernment Services Canada Regional Office located at 800 Burrard Street, Vancouver.  The scheduled date will be on October 14, 2016, Friday at 10:00 a.m.  Please arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. Attendees are requested to report to the 2nd floor reception area and register to get a visitor’s pass.  A staff member will bring you to the designated conference room. 
    
    Delivery Date: 
    The base work shall commence immediately upon official notification of acceptance of the tender by theContracting Authority and is to be completed by December 15, 2016.  
    
    The Contractor grants to Canada the irrevocable option to acquire goods, services or both described at the Unit Price Table of the Contract under the same conditions and at the prices and/or rates stated in the Contract.  The option may only be exercised by the Contracting authority and will be evidenced, for administrative purposes only, through a contract amendment.
    
    The Contracting Authority may exercise the option at any timebefore the expiry of the Contract by sending a written notice to the Contractor.

    Value of Project: 
    To assist withbonding and insurance requirements, the base work is estimated to cost around $1,000,000.00.
