    Work Description:
    Work under this contract comprises highway surfacing and other
    work on Highway #4 through Pacific Rim National Park, Km 0.000
    to Km 21.500 near Tofino, British Columbia. Work will be
    performed in accordance with the contract schedules within the
    scope of work. This includes but is not limited to the following:
    Supply & installation of traffic control, departmental
    representative office trailer and other temporary construction
    facilities required for completion of the project work
    Remove existing asphalt by milling. Dispose unused milled
    reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) outside the park in an
    environmental friendly way at contractor's expense
    Perform mix designs for hot mix asphalt using performance grade
    (PG) 58-28 asphalt cement, RAP and asphalt mix aggregates
    supplied by the contractor.
    Supply Asphalt binder, mix with crushed aggregate and RAP, haul
    and construct hot mix asphalt
    Supply anti-stripping agent, if required and approved by the
    departmental representative
    Supply and apply emulsified tack coat prior to placing hot mix
    asphalt
    Supply paint and painting directional dividing and 2 edge lines;
    intersection lines, turn arrows, painted islands and pavement
    crosshatch at intersection median areas
    Culvert improvements
    Other related work 
    
    Site Visit:
    There will be no site meeting scheduled.
    
    Contractors are strongly recommended to visit the site prior to
    submitting a tender for this work and to make enquiries or
    investigations necessary to become thoroughly acquainted with
    the site as well as the nature and extent of the work.
    
    Delivery Date:
    The work shall commence immediately upon official notification
    of acceptance of tender by the Contracting Authority. Work under
    this contract must be completed by October 15, 2015.

    Value of Project:
    To assist with bonding and insurance requirements this project
    is estimated to cost between 
    $8,000,000.00  - $9,000,000.00.
