Tenderers should note that Attachment contains the Drawings and Specifications Package (DSP) which consists of PDF files organized in an industry recognized directory structure. Due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and to encourage physical distancing, the bid receiving unit in Vancouver will remain open but with limited staff and limited hours: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays only, from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm (Pacific Daylight Time). Public tender openings will be suspended until further notice. Following solicitation closing, bid results will be recorded and may be obtained by e-mailing a request to the address indicated in the Invitation to Tender. Please monitor Buyandsell.gc.ca closely as changes to bid closing dates may be necessary. Work Description: Work under this Contract includes, but is not limited to, the demolition of existing building and construction of new Ocean Protection Plan Depot. WORK SEQUENCE .1 Demolition and Construction of all buildings are to be carried out in in the following sequence: Phase 1: Demolition of existing building. Phase 2: Construction of new Ocean Protection Plan Depot. Exact construction period of each phase to be referred to Section 01 11 55 General Instructions Clause 1.4. .2 Do not close off usage of roadways, walkways and access to other buildings until alternate usage has been provided. .3 Maintain fire truck and maintenance truck access throughout the construction period Work will be performed in accordance with the contract schedules within the scope of work. Optional Site Visit: As part of the tender process, an optional online orientation will be scheduled on Thursday, April 30, 2020 at 10:00 am PT. We encourage all bidders to attend this online meeting. You may attend either by phone (audio) or by computer (audio and/or video), though we recommend you take advantage of the video as we will present visuals. The details for logging in to this meeting will be made available to all bidders who express an interest in attending by contacting the contracting authority before 3:00 pm PT April 29, 2020. Delivery Date: The work shall commence immediately upon official notification of acceptance of tender by the Contracting Authority and is to be completed within fifty-seven (57) weeks. Value of Project: To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project is estimated to cost between $8,500,000 and $9,000,000.
