    Due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and to encourage physical distancing, the bid receiving unit in Vancouver will remain open but with limited staff and limited hours: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday only from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Bidders must not submit hard-copy bids outside of these times.
    
    Public tender openings will be suspended until further notice. Following solicitation closing, bid results will be recorded and may be obtained by e-mailing a request to the address indicated in the Invitation to Tender.

    SI05 Bid Security Requirements. A scanned copy of a bond does not constitute a digital bond. Submitting copies (non-original, non-verifiable or scanned copy) of signed and sealed bid bond are not acceptable. Non-compliant bids will be given no further consideration.     Work Description:
    This Contract covers the following work at the Matsqui Institution, Abbotsford, BC:
    - Provide and install new mechanical roof top units and associated ducts & supports.
    - Provide and install new heaters in exterior mechanical shafts.
    - Modify existing concertina tape installation, relocate existing security cameras, and modify existing rain water leaders to suit new exterior ducts.
    - Provide and install new radiant panels and extend existing hydronic heating loop.
    - Provide and install new exhaust fan in the Kitchen.
    - Replace existing mechanical unit in the basement mechanical room.
    
    
    Optional Site Visit: 
    Contractors are strongly recommended to visit the site prior to submitting a tender for this work and to make inquiries or investigations necessary to become thoroughly acquainted with the site as well as the nature and extent of the work.
    
    There will be a 2nd optional site visit on Monday, October 25, 2021 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm PDST. All site visit attendees must pre-register with the Contracting Authority, Janie Leung, by email at Janie.Leung@pwgsc.gc.ca, no later than 3:00 pm PDST Friday, October 22, 2021, and provide the following information:

    Contractors attending the site visit are required to show one (1) piece of government issued ID, such as a Driver’s License. 
    
    All contractors must wear a high visibility vest, hard hat and safety boots which meets WCB standards, for all site visits including a tender site visit.  No cameras, cell phones (of any type) or laptop computers are allowed into institutions at any time.
    
    COVID Protocols
    Bidders must fill out a Covid-19 Screening Questionnaire prior to entering the Institution. Bidders must present the completed form upon entrance. 
    
    Masks must be worn at all times while inside the Institution. The masks must be the health care blue masks; they are available outside of the principle entrances along with hand sanitizer.
    
    Physical distancing must be maintained at all times.
    
    Depending on number of people attending the site visit, bidders may be required to break into small groups before entering the institutions.
    
    Travel to and from the site is at the Bidder’s own expense and risk. Bidders are responsible for familiarizing themselves and complying with public health protocols in effect for COVID-19, including travel restrictions.
    
    
    Delivery Date: 
    The Contractor shall perform and complete the work within twenty (20) weeks of Contract Award.
    
    Value of Project: 
    To assist with insurance and bonding requirements, this project is estimated to cost between $1,000,001 to $5,000,000.
