    Comprehensive Land Claims Agreement
    This procurement is to be undertaken within lands covered by the Maa-Nulth Modern Treaty.
    
    Work Description: REVISED
    Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC), requires work to be done in the surrounding area of the Pacific Rim National Park in Vancouver Island, British Columbia.  Specific Work to be performed includes but is not limited to:
    1. Providing traffic control when falling trees are near roads, highways, pedestrian trails and parking lots;
    2. Close clearing of a right of way 5.2 metre wide by approximately 30 kilometers long (156,000 square metres) containing approximately 3,155 cubic metres of merchantable timber;
    3. Clearing and removal of fallen timber andorganic debris from the 5.2 metre right of way to original ground for approximately 29 kilometres of trail;
    4. Clearing of fallen timber and organic debris from the 5.2 metre right of way to original ground level and chipping and depositing material approximately 5 to 15 metres from the right of way for approximately 1 kilometre of trail
    5. Close clearing of approximately 80 construction pull-off areas 3.0 metres wide by 20 metres long (4,800 square metres);
    6. Close clearing and grubbing of approximately 40 access points 5.2 metres wide by 20 metres long (4,200 square metres) including topsoil stripping, placing geotextile, and placing and compacting 300 mm of granular sub-base and 100 millimetre (mm) base material (4,000 square metres);  
    7. Clearing and grubbing of one future parking lot approximately 7,500 square metres in area;
    8. In future parking lot, topsoil stripping, placing of a geotextile, and placing and compacting 450 mm of granular sub-base and 100 mm base material (5,600 square metres);  
    9. Installation of ten (10) HPDE culverts (five 600 mm diameter x 10  metres long and five 450 mm diameter by 10 metres long);
    10. Supply and installation of two project signs 1.2 m x 2.4 m, one located at each end of the Pacific Rim NationalPark along Highway #4. 
    11. Salvaging and delivering designated timber to three parking lots within the Pacific Rim National Park (approximately 3,155 cubic metres);
    12. Falling and close cutting of approximately 31 individually identified danger trees throughout the park.  Falling and close cutting of approximately 300 individually identified danger trees along the trail alignment. Falling and close cutting of approximately 120 individually identified root damaged trees along the trail alignment. Removal of all trunks and branches up to 120 mm diameter and salvaging to 2 designated parking areas timbers over 120 mm in diameter.
    13. Supply, installation, relocation, and removal of temporary bridges to cross all water courses.
    14. Engage the servicesof Professional Environmental Persons to provide environmental monitoring during construction.
      
    Work will be performed in accordance with the contract schedules within the scope of work.
    
    Site Visit: 
    While there are no scheduled site visits, contractors are recommended to visit the site prior to submitting a tender for this work and to make inquiries or investigations necessary to become thoroughly acquainted with the site as well as the nature and extent of the work.  
    
    Delivery Date: 
    The work shall commence immediately upon official notification of acceptance of the tender by the Contracting Authority and is to be completed within 16 weeks of contract award.

    To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project is estimated to cost around 1,000,000.00.
