Trade Agreement: Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA) Tendering Procedures: All interested suppliers may submit a bid Competitive Procurement Strategy: Lowest/Lower Bid Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement: No Nature of Requirements: Fire Sprinkler Rehabilitation EZ899-190821/A Park (PWY), Isabell Telephone No. - (604) 365-0073 ( ) Email: ji-yonisabell.park@pwgsc-tpsgc.gc.ca This requirement covers the following work at the multiple buildings and supporting wood pier substructure of the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site (the Cannery) in Richmond, BC. The building complex is a classified FHBRO Heritage resource, and Heritage Character Defining Elements must be protected. The heritage value of the Gulf of Georgia Cannery is embodied in the integrity of the material fabric of the building, the historic artifacts it contains, and its compatible context including the site. It is a requirement that all staff employed by the Contractor and Subcontractors review the Heritage Character Statement and Commemorative Integrity Statement as guidance in the performance of all aspects of the Work. The Cannery complex is a historic amalgamation of medium and large wood-framed industrial buildings located on a wood pier over Fraser River estuarine tidewater. It has unique physical features and other limitations affecting the performance of the Work, such as but not limited to: 1 Pier substructure: water level fluctuations including tides; 2 Buildings Ground Floor: numerous exhibits and large fixed industrial artifacts throughout; 3 Buildings Mezzanines: storage of medium- and small-sized artifacts on freestanding metal rack shelves arranged in aisles, on the floor, and suspended in the rafters above. Observe posted structural load limitations on mezzanines & provide temporary structural reinforcement where loads are exceeded. The Work includes, but is not limited to, the following general scope: Fire Protection Civil Electrical Structural Architectural Site Visit: Contractors are strongly recommended to visit the site prior to submitting a tender for this work and to make enquiries or investigations necessary to become thoroughly acquainted with the site as well as the nature and extent of the work. There will be a site visit on 08 August 2018 at 9:30am PDST and 31 August 2018 at 10:00am PDST. Interested bidders are to meet at the Admin Buiilding, Gulf of Georgia Cannery, 12138 Fourth Avenue, Richmond, B.C. Delivery Date: The work shall commence immediately upon official notification of acceptance of tender by the Contracting Authority and is to be completed within 15 months of contract award. Value of Project: To assist with bonding and insurance requirements this project is estimated to cost between $2,800,000.00 - $3,200,000.00. Bid Depository: The General Contractor must obtain bids for the Mechanical and Electrical trades through BidCentral Online Bidding for Subcontractors (BOBS) according to its rules of procedure (www.bidcentral.ca/bobs). All questions regarding BidCentral Online Bidding for Subcontractors is to be referred to the BOBS Administrator as indicated in the BOBS rules of procedures. The General Contractor must instruct the Mechanical and Electrical Trade Contractors bidding directly to the General Contractor to bid on the scope of the work as defined in the BOBS rules of procedures (e.g. trade definitions, specification sections etc.). Notwithstanding anything else contained in this bid solicitation, no Bidder, General Contractor or Subcontractor or any other person or entity will have any claim whatsoever (including but not limited to a claim of negligence) or any compensation of any kind whatsoever against Canada as a result of participation in or use of BOBS, or participation in the BOBS process, or as a result of the interpretation, application or non-application of their rules of procedure. Firms intending to submit proposals on this project should obtain documents through Buyandsell.gc.ca/tenders. Addenda, when issued will be available from Buyandsell.gc.ca/tenders. Firms that elect to base their proposal on documents obtained from other sources do so at their own risk and will be solely responsible to inform the tender calling authority of their intention to bid.
