Trade Agreement: Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA) Tendering Procedures: All interested suppliers may submit a bid Competitive Procurement Strategy: Lowest/Lower Bid Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement: No Nature of Requirements: PROJECT IDENTIFICATION: R.090209.005, Alexandra Bridge Rehabilitation, Ottawa Ontario and Gatineau Quebec PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The scope of work consists mainly of replacing angles, lattices, gusset plates, braces, batten plates and strengthening floor beams, stringers and other built-up members, pier repointing and some minor concrete work for the structural steel replacement and strengthening of the Piers 2 and 3 in order to extend its life expectancy of the Alexandra Bridge located in Gatineau, Québec and Ottawa, Ontario. Work is to be completed within fifty-two (52) weeks after contract award. The estimated cost for this opportunity is within the following category: $1,000,001 to $5,000,000. MANDATORY SECURITY REQUIREMENT: This procurement contains a mandatory security requirement. At bid closing, the Bidder must hold a valid Designated Organization Screening (DOS). Failure to comply with this requirement will render the Bid non-compliant and no further consideration will be given to the Bid. OPTIONAL SITE VISIT: There will be an optional site visit on Wednesday April 17, 2019 at 10:00am. Interested bidders shall meet at the Lookout in Ottawa, Ontario. Safety Attire - It is mandatory that all persons attending the site visit have the proper safety footwear (CSA approved green patch). Hard hats and safety glasses are also required. Contractor personnel/individuals who do not have the proper safety attire will be denied access to the site. Amendments, when issued, will be available from the same government electronic tendering service. Firms that elect to base their bids on bid documents obtained from other sources do so at their own risk and will be solely responsible to inform the bid calling authority of their intention to bid.
