All questions regarding BidCentral Online Bidding for Subcontractors is to be referred to the BOBS Administrator as indicated in the BOBS rules of procedures. The General Contractor must instruct the Electrical Trade Contractors bidding directly to the General Contractor to bid on the scope of the work as defined in the BOBS rules of procedures (e.g. trade definitions, specification sections etc.). Notwithstanding anything else contained in this bid solicitation, no Bidder, General Contractor or Subcontractor or any other person or entity will have any claim whatsoever (including but not limited to a claim of negligence) or any compensation of any kind whatsoever against Canada as a result of participation in or use of BOBS, or participation in the BOBS process, or as a result of the interpretation, application or non-application of their rules of procedure. Note to Tenderers: Drawings and Specifications are now available for viewing and downloading in a Portable Document Format (PDF) or in a standard paper version. Tenderers should note that Attachment File(s)contains the Drawings and Specifications Package (DSP) which consists of PDF files organized in an industry recognized directory structure. Work Description: Work to be done under this Contract covers Domestic Water and Fire System Rehabilitation for the Institute of Ocean Sciences - Sidney, BC locations. Work to be performed under this Contract includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1.) Remove and dispose the existing infrastructure components related to Floating Docks A,B, and C in an environmentally sound manner 2.) Installation of newpiping, valve arrangements, and electrical work on new Floating Docks A, B1, B2, C and D. 3.) For each float, provide new water supply tie-in connections complete with related piping modifications on land and Fixed Wharf area. 4.) Provide new fire hydrant and hose system on north edge of the Fixed Wharf transverse section. 5.) Chlorinate all new piping system and commission with pressure testing. Work will be performed in accordance with the contract schedules within the scope of work. Site Visit: Contractors are recommended to visit the site prior to submitting a tender for this work and to make inquiries or investigations necessary to become thoroughly acquainted with the site as well as the nature and extent of the work.A site visit is scheduled on Wednesday, October 12th, 2016 at 1:30pm local time, at the Institute of Ocean Sciences, located at 9860 West Saanich Road, Sydney, BC, V8L 5T5. A maximum of two (2) representatives per bidder will be permitted to examine thesites. Contractors attending the scheduled site visit will have to check in with the Commissioner at the front desk at time of the site visit. Delivery Date: The work shall commence immediately upon official notification of acceptance of tender by the Contracting Authority and is to be completed by March 31st 2017. Firms that elect to base their bids on tender (solicitation) documents obtained from other sources do so at their own risk and will be solely responsible to inform the tender calling authority of their intention to bid. In all cases, bidders must indicate (when requested) in the space provided on the tender form the identification number(s)of the addenda, if any, that they have taken into consideration for their bid.
