Title: ATES System (aquifer thermal energy storage system)
Replacement

Location: Pacific Agri-foods Research Centre (PARC), Agassiz, BC

Work Description:
Work under this contract covers removal of the existing
chiller-heat pump system and the installation of a new
air-cooled chiller system, complete with new piping and
electrical lines and a new walled enclosure around the chiller
at PARC. 

Work includes, but is not limited to:
1. 	Phased demolition of existing chiller-heat pump and
associated pumps, pipe work and insulation, and legal disposal
of demolished equipment and materials

2. 	Phased installation of new air-cooled chiller, new pumps and
pipework

3. 	Modification of existing control system to integrate the new
control requirement so that the existing systems and new systems
shall work in unity without any problem

4. 	Construction of a new enclosure around the chiller

5. 	Commissioning

6. 	All welding works shall be done outside of the building away
from air intakes

7. 	Rental of 52 ft container-type freezer and fridge for
storing laboratory samples during the period of cooling
shut-down required for integration of the existing mechanical
system into the new system. 

Site Visit:
A Site Visit has been scheduled for June 26, 2014 at 10:00am.
Interested Bidders are to meet in the lobby of the main building
of the Pacific Agri-Food Research Centre located at 
6947 Lougheed Highway, Agassiz, BC. 

Construction Time:
The Contractor shall perform and complete the Work within
twenty-four (24) weeks from the date of notification of
acceptance of the bid.

Value of Project:
To assist with bonding and insurance requirements this project
is estimated to cost between 
$475,000.00 and $525,000.00.
